It is an honour for me to serve my country as its Ambassador in Ouagadougou. When I presented my Letter of Credence in August 2026, I pledged to work at consolidating the relationship between our two countries in a spirit of brotherhood. That pledge guides the work of this Embassy every day.
Nigeria and Burkina Faso are West African nations that share a long history and a common future. Our peoples trade, study, travel and build families across the region, and our governments face many of the same challenges, above all the security of our citizens and the prosperity of our economies. In December 2025, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu sent a delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, to Ouagadougou with a message of solidarity and fraternity for President Ibrahim Traoré. On that occasion, the two governments agreed to sustain regular consultations and to pursue practical measures to deepen our cooperation and promote regional integration. It is my task, and that of the whole Embassy, to turn that commitment into results.
Our mission is to serve and protect the interests of Nigeria and its citizens, strengthen our bilateral relations and promote mutual cooperation. To my fellow Nigerians living in Burkina Faso: this Embassy is your home away from home.
